LINDA KENDELL WINS THE BUBBLE POKER LEAGUE
Linda Kendell Wins TBPL
Well the season is drawing to a close on Wednesday evening and already the Champion of the league in London has been crowned.
Linda 'Annie' Kendell has completed the challenge by winning The Bubble Poker League in the winter season, she won the league in the winter season last time and has really made it her own this season.
'Annie', which was a nickname that came around when Greig Gilmore mentioned that she looked like Anne Robinson on holiday for poker in the sands?
Do you think she look's like Anne Robinson? We are not sure but she was defiantly not 'Weakest Link' within the bubble poker league in this season, make many final tables and gaining those points all through the season.
She has finally been crowned once again the champion of champions and will be looking forward to her wealthy chip stack at The Champions League tournament on Saturday 7th February 2009.
She didn't have such an easy ride though, not as normal?
Wallyd Gayal has been poking himself right behind her, trying to get head (typo I mean ahead) of Linda all season long, the challenge was a good one but just not close enough.
The odds will be distributed on the website soon enough for next season in which Linda and Wallyd will be high on the list.
Next week all tournaments are running the same for the final week of the season and then the league itself will be taking a little break, but don't worry the nights won't, they will all still be on but the only difference is that there will be no points involved. Money will always be involved and that's what we are about.
The closing week will see:
Monday Night @ The Urban Bar
Tuesday Night @ The Samuel Pepys
Wednesday Night @ The Mitre
&
Wednesday Night @ The City Bunker
The tournament at the City Bunker will be the double bubble night in which the pot will be bigger as we are hosting a private ten pounds tournament, so the buy in will be ten plus three for the tournament down in the financial district of Canary Wharf. The Mitre will still remain five pounds.
Once again we would like to congratulate Linda Kendell for winning The Bubble Poker League in it's winter season, we would like to ask all players to now call her 'Annie' as this is what she will be known as to all in future.

Monday night this week at The Urban Bar was a fantastic night full of new and old players, most of them braving the -43 degree temperatures for the poker cause after New Year.
We have been told that we might need to add an aditional two tables to accomodate all the players that we are getting on a Monday night down in Whitechapel, this is something that will be discussed in the coming weeks.
Mark Stewart won the tournament and taking the maximum 10 points from the evening along with his big cash prize.
Current leader board leader 'Linda Kendell' came second adding another 8 points to her total, can she make it over the 109 point mark to take over 'Wayne Murphys' points record?
1ST - MARK STEWART
2ND - Linda Kendell
3RD - Flavio Xaus
4TH - Geoff Fletcher
5TH - Stuart Happy
6TH - Michael Long
7TH - Mohammed Rahman
8TH - Jason Matheou

A very cold and brisk Tuesday night was to be had down at The Samuel Pepys in Mansion House and with everyone ready and refreshed after the Christmas and New Year period you could really sense the amazing atmosphere that we have come to expect from the number one place in London to play poker on a Tuesday night.
Five tables were set out ready for play in the bar right next the the River Thames.
Tonight it was the seasons Double Bubble night, so everyone who made it into the final eight would gain Double points for The Bubble Poker League and this was on everyone's mind tonight, starting stack for this tournament was 3000 with the blinds still going up after every 15 minutes.
The very first hand did bring our first casualty though with our very own 'Viet Lieu' busting out with his pocket queens getting bust to Scott Harrision's straight on the river.
Only a few minutes later and shouts and screams came from Table C as 'Wallyd Gayal' hit Quad Aces to take down a big pot from 'Mark Nicol', photograph to come soon.
The night was simmering down after the exitment until the same table screamed once again, with everyone wanting to know what was going on they glanced over, the same table had once again got quad aces, this time Mark Nicol was involved again in which he had a full house but still lost, seeing Mr Nicol bust out always seems to put a big smile on some of the members faces.
Amazing though in one night two quad aces on any one table, that's what we bring down at The Bubble Poker League, something special to the tables!
Donny Monteiro busted out Craig 'Bubble' Norwood just after the break of play and other casualties were dropping like flies after the break.
Ben Arnold made an amazing raise then call pre flop with 2,4 suited before hitting two pair against Neg Eren.
Neg was saying all night long that he would leave in 10 minutes because his brother was down for the week, he was saying this from about 9:12pm, Neg in the end left The Samuel Pepys at around 11:05pm, is this a bluff from the young Arsenal fan or is he just a gambler?
Answers on a postcard :-)
1ST - BEN ARNOLD
2ND - Jackie Jackson
3RD - Donny Monteiro
4TH - Scott Harrison
5TH - Milton Lima
6TH - Ash Uddin
7TH - Wallyd Gayal
8TH - Mickey

What a location The Mitre is becoming on a Wednesday night in Holland Park, this venue just keeps growing and growing and the food in the bar is getting better and better.
Mark Nicol was controlling his first night as tournament director at The Mitre and what a fantastic start to his Bubble Poker League career he has had.
Lots of new players took to the tables in West London for this five pounds freeze out tournament and here are the final results below :-)
1ST - NEG EREN
2ND - Greig Gilmore
3RD - Berti Ferrari
4TH - Wallyd Gayal
5TH - Mike Marsh
6TH - Jeff Blattner
7TH - Amanda Ferrari
8TH - Mohammed Rahman
